Angler of the Year Points System for PPHSC 2010

For each tournament points will be rewarded as follows:

1st Place = Total Number of Boats in Tournament

2nd Place = 1st Place Points -1

3rd Place = 2nd Place Points -1

4th Place =  3rd Place Points -1…

…this pattern continues to the last place with fish.

All other places who have no fish…but show up to the weigh-in = 1 point

Big Fish = 1 extra bonus point

*So if you are in 1st place and have the Big Fish…you would earn a total of points equal to the number of boats in the tournament plus the bonus point for having big fish.

*Note 1 - If only one boat catches fish in a tournament...that boat will be paid prize money for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place...but only receive Angler of the Year Points for the total number of boats in the tournament + Big Fish Bonus Point.

*Note 2 - If no fish are caught in a tournament...there will be no payout and the entry fees will be counted toward the next tournament.  All paid tournament participants will still be eligible for the 1 point for showing up to the weigh-in.

 Advantages of the Points System

  1. Levels the playing field between Old Hickory and Percy Priest Tournaments

  2. Allows for a measurement system to be used on Old Hickory tournaments if desired.

  3. Rewards participation in weigh-ins.

  4. Makes each tournament equal value…so it makes Angler of the Year truly a year long result.
