TOURNAMENT RULES

1. Fees. The tournament entry fee is $25 per boat. Each participant may enter the optional big-fish pot for $5. All participants in a boat must enter the big-fish pot for any participant in that boat to be eligible for the big-fish pot.

2. Pre-Registration. Members are encouraged to pre-register by paying their entry fees at the meeting before the tournament. The Tournament Director or his designated agent will collect entry fees at that meeting. The tournament may be cancelled if less than five (5) boats are pre-registered. If a Member intends to fish the tournament, but cannot be present at the meeting, that Member must notify the Tournament Director of his or her intent to fish before the meeting. That Member’s entry fees must be received by the Tournament Director no later than the Expected Start Time of the tournament.

3. Registration. The Tournament Director or his designated agent will collect entry fees at the designated Start Area before the tournament until the Expected Start Time. 

4. Blast-Off. At the Expected Start Time, all tournament participants should be registered and paid. Shortly after the Expected Start Time, the Tournament Director or his designated agent will provide the designated Start Signal. For morning tournaments, the Start Signal will be provided when light is safe for navigation, that is "safe light." Upon hearing the Start Signal, all tournament participants may depart the Start Area by water or by land. Members may launch at a different ramp and must not leave that ramp until the designated start time.

5. Weigh-In. All tournament participants must return to the Start Area (inside the no-wake zone) before the designated End Time in order to qualify for the Weigh-In. The Tournament Director or his designated agent will bring the scales, weigh the fish, and record the weight of each fish. Each Member who fished the tournament will also receive one Total Weight Angler of the Year point for each pound of the (2) best fish weighed in by their boat.

6. Late Arrival Penalty. If a tournament participant is late to the Weigh-In, that tournament participant will be penalized one (1) pound of fish weight per minute late, for his or her biggest fish, according to time kept by the Tournament Director or his designated agent. If a tournament participant is more than ten (10) minutes late, his or her catch will be disqualified.

7. Prizes. Each boat may present its two (2) best fish to be weighed for the overall weight category, in which first, second, and third places will be paid. Each tournament participant entered in the big-fish pot may present his or her best fish to be weighed for the big-fish pot. The big fish pot will be paid in full to the winner of this side pot. No money will be withheld for the club from fees collected.

8. Payout. Ten percent (10%) of the tournament entry fees will be held for the Fish-Off. The remaining ninety percent (90%) will be paid out as follows: 50% for first place, 30% for second place, and 20% for third place. Payout will be made at the next scheduled meeting or by mail. NSBA sanctioned tournaments payouts will follow immediately after the conclusion of the weigh-in. The payout for a tournament within a tournament follows the same schedule. 10% held for the club, then 50%, 30% and 20% of the 90%. "Tournament within a Tournament" A optional "Tournament with a Tournament" may be held at the same time during the club tournament. The club will payout to the winners of the "TWT" and will follow the same payout process as the normal club tournament including retaining 10% of the fees collected.

9. Family of a Member. A Member’s spouse and children and grandchildren who are under 18 years of age are allowed to fish tournaments with the Member without paying membership dues.

10. Non-Members. A Non-Member may fish one (1) "members-only" tournament with a Member. Non-Members may fish any "open" tournament with or without a Member.

11. Bait. Live and artificial baits are allowed. Chumming is allowed; provided however, attempting to attract fish to an area by chumming before a tournament is not allowed and will result in disqualification.

12. Bank Fishing. Bank fishing is allowed on the reservoir where the tournament is held.

13. Cancellation. A tournament may be cancelled if forecasted wind conditions are predicted to be 20 MPH and above for the day of the tournament. A tournament may be cancelled if less than five (5) boats are pre-registered. If a tournament is cancelled, entry fees will be refunded or applied to the next tournament.

14. Fish Condition. A fish presented at the weigh-in must be in good condition at the time of the weigh-in. Fish should be iced down if intended for weigh-in. Any fish presented in poor condition will automatically be disqualified! This will be strictly enforced!!!

16. No Fish Rule. If no fish are weighed in, the entry fees for all participants will be applied to the next tournament.

17. Disclaimer. The club and it's members are not responsible for injuries, theft, or damage to your property, yourself, or those in your boat. Entrants take responsibilities for their own actions.

18. Last Rule. All tournament participants must abide by the Tournament Rules and applicable laws.
